Whenever you are applying for a job, you should send in a list of references along with your resume. These references should be professional, in other words, they should not be family members. Past bosses, colleagues, coaches, or if you are still in school, teachers and professors usually make great references. Make sure you use references who respect you and think highly of you. The purpose of these references is that the manager of the company you are applying to can call them and ask their opinion of you and if they think you would be right for the job. So pick people that would highly recommend you and help you get the job! You also need to be sure to ask any potential references for permission to use them and inform them of where you will be applying so they can be prepared for correspondence from interviewers.
For each reference you'll want to include their:
-First name
-Last name
-Relation to them (boss, colleague, etc.) and how long that relation lasted (3 years)
-Best phone number to contact them
-Best email to contact them
-Address (optional)

Make sure you include 3-5 references.
References should be professional contacts.
Never use a family member as a reference.
Below is an example of a professional references list.
Here is an outline of a reference list:

Remember to let every reference know you are using them as a reference and where you are applying to, so they can be prepared to receive contact from potential employers.
